Condition & Notes

This unit is in mint condition. It’s complete with all the original packaging, power supply, keyboard, mouse, angled VGA adapter, modem cable, 6-pin-to-4-pin FireWire cable, USB extender cable, software CDs, documentation, and Apple Pro Speakers.

As any purveyor of vintage Apple computers knows, the Cube is an extremely special machine. It showcased many unique and uncommon features for a desktop system, including a vertically-mounted optical drive, premium sound system, and an external power supply. It didn’t sell well and was pulled from the market after about a year of lackluster sales. This particular machine is the standard 450 MHz G4 config, with the optional Pro Speakers (M7963) that feature a USB connection and were made especially for the Cube.

This unit was purchased from its original owner, who had upgraded the original 20 GB hard drive to a 120 GB SSD for greater storage capacity, speed, quietness, and reliability. This Cube also has the upgraded GeForce2 MX graphics card with 32MB of VRAM (instead of the sock Rage Pro 128 with 16MB), which is required to run the larger 22” Cinema Display.

The original ship date on the box is 01/12/2001.

The Cube is in beautiful working condition, and is currently running Mac OS 9.0.4.

 Accessories

The G4 Cube’s power supply, which uses a proprietary 4-pin connector.

Apple Pro Keyboard and Pro Mouse, power cable, modem cable, USB extender cable, angled VGA adapter, software CDs, and documentation. The special angled VGA adapter was included because the Cube’s VGA output is angled straight downwards, making a standard VGA connector difficult to attach.

The Apple Pro Speakers for the Power Mac G4 Cube, which feature a built-in amplifier and USB connector. The black surrounds are known to become extremely brittle with age, as virtually all of them are now afflicted with this condition. Mine are still relatively intact, but I hope to someday replace them with modern replacement parts.

Warranty/license/AppleCare info, Setup Guide, setup/expansion guide, software coupons, Pro Speakers documentation, G4 Cube brochure, software CDs, and even the original Apple stickers from 2001!
